Inspired by all I had learned working with Alice Pennefather on my short dance film Birdsong,

I decided to try making a new short dance film. Keeping things simple I filmed in my own garden, and danced myself - though that is not always so simple!

Huge thanks the talented young Canadian composer Élisabeth Pion for the beautiful music, and to my patient husband for the camerawork. Spirit of the Tree has now been launched into the film festival circuit. We've had a fantastic start with many selections and awards.
